Normal Kettle Boil Time

Does the 30-second rule after the water comes to a boil apply to non-electric kettles on the stove too? Or would you need to wait longer?

    I've found that as long as the kettle is enclosed (ie: you're not boiling in an open pot), the 30 second rule is pretty consistent no matter what kind of kettle you're using.

    Of course, latest and greatest experiments from my favorite coffee youtuber makes me think maybe we should just boil it and not worry about the 30 seconds. Hmmmm.....
